Great design but ONE big issue!
I bought this coffee maker a while back and used it only once in a while. My wife loves to have everything kitchen aid so I spent the money on it to go with her other appliances. One day I placed the glass pot in the sink and the glass cracked. I heard it and I hope it was okay but bad luck of mine it was cracked. I guess the only good part was my wife wasn't home so I didn't have to tell her right away. But one day while we had people over she offered a pot of coffee and then I had to confess and ever since then I've been looking for a replacement. 4 months and she brings it up every time she looks at the coffee maker. I wish I would of read the reviews about the glass pot before buying and I would of saved myself all this trouble.

5.00 out of 5 stars reviewVerified Purchaser07/18/2021Removable reservoir is a plusI chose this for the removable water reservoir. My previous one was also KitchenAid with that feature, and it lasted at least 9 years. The only drawback is the warmer only stays on for 2 hours and there is no way to extend it without doing another brew cycleMarilynn

1.00 out of 5 stars reviewVerified Purchaser05/18/2021Nice features but the carafes break too easily. We've had this less than a year and had three broken carafes. Broken with out being banged or dropped. And they're out of stock and you cant buy a replacement that will fit properly anywhere else.Bruce518

5.00 out of 5 stars reviewVerified Purchaser09/05/2020Great Coffee Maker - So pleased with our purchase. What I love most about this coffee maker is the water fill feature. Fill the pitcher with water and set it back on the base. I no longer need to pour water into the water reservoir. Also, the pour spout on the carafe is basically spill-proof, like what you see in a diner. Our previous carafe did not have a great pour spout and I frequently spilled when the carafe was full. I like the drip stop feature also which allows me to grab the coffee prior to completion of the brew cycle. I also like the built-in measurement levels inside the gold filter basket, takes the guesswork out and I no longer need a specific spoon to measure the coffee grounds. Most of my friends own a Keurig. I like Keurig, but I really need more than a cup at a time, I appreciate the 12 cup quantity since my husband and I use bigger cups than average. Plus, with Keurig pods, there's only so much coffee grounds in the pod and I'd need a double sized pod to satisfy the strength in my cup, which is not an option. With that, the Kitchenaid keeps my coffee very hot and it brews a perfectly flavored pot every time. Some other nice features included is the 2 hour auto shut off, a clock which makes the unit programmable. The unit is narrower than my previous unit but it is also wider - Surprisingly it also has a brew start button on both the side AND the front alleviating the need for me to push/pull it away from under the cabinet to set up or brew. This is a great unit and I was contemplating between this or a BlackKelly

5.00 out of 5 stars reviewVerified Purchaser05/08/2019Love at first sightI absolutely loved the color of this coffee maker, and love the removable water tank as my husband is notorious for not cleaning the pot before filling the tank. Brews fast, tastes great, looks great on my coffee station. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]Iwakeupforcoffee

5.00 out of 5 stars reviewVerified Purchaser05/05/2019Excellent purchaseI received a different brand coffee maker for Christmas and my husband hated it. He loves how simple this one is to use. I love how easy it is to fill. Makes great coffee that doesn't take a long time to brew. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]Dpeterman

5.00 out of 5 stars reviewVerified Purchaser03/16/2019Great Traditional Coffeemaker with a spin!I've had the chance to brew coffee in the KitchenAid coffee maker for the past 3 days. So far, from what I've observed and tasted I'm super impressed. One of the positives of this coffee maker is that when it's brewing it sprays water in such a way that the coffee beans are saturated with water which is probably why my coffee seems to taste richer than when I use my other coffee maker. I also love the fact that the coffee seems to be hotter longer as well. The reserve in the back where the water is held is big enough to brew a big, fresh pot of coffee that everyone can get a cup of. The actual coffee pot itself holds 12 cups. The reserve holds a max of 72 grams. The only downside to the coffee maker is that it's a bit bigger than my current coffee maker but that's not a bad thing. Overall I have enjoyed my new coffee maker. I think you'll enjoy the richer brew this coffee maker has managed to add to the world of coffee makers.Nycole007
