For a cheaper shelf, it is sturdy, laying side ways, I have walked on it. As I am 200 pounds, I felt no give. They were easy to put together. Price and quality is great. My only complaint is that they would be nice to have the backing too, I used mine around the tv and my lights and games have a lot of wires running around. I had to get clever and use the cube bins to help hide them. But with the backing, I could just punch holes where I need them and hide wires behind it. I am 100% happy with what I got.

Horrible quality
I have bought this same brand before and they were so much better. This one is terrible. It is made of air basically, so light and hollow and came covered in dings and dents and scratches. So not worth the money I spent on it. I pulled it out of the box and was so disappointed. If I wasn't desperate for furniture I would send it back!! The photos are from the front, I hid the side with the most damage!

One of the side “B” pieces had a hole that wasn't completely aligned with the rest.(I had to drill a hole) Unfortunately it was my last step and I cracked a “D” piece in the process. Now my shelf would have to be stood up the wrong way since I meant it for the bottom. But now I don't trust that broken “D” piece to hold up and be sturdy at the bottom. Plus. The dowels are now plastic which sucks, and for whatever reason I also had a hard time tightening the cam lock to lock into position. I've had many of these cubicles in the past decade and this is a first. I would say I got a lemon.LizLM

There are minor manufacturing blemishes on some of the parts, specifically the edges of the dividers are slightly flared and rough, enough to snag fabric. The unit went together fairly easily but the fasteners are a waste of material. Two of the cam locks broke off after I put it together and stood it upright.carson

Due to lack of upper body strength, I had trouble getting the long screws in the top and bottom boards so my son did that for me. Put it in the finished basement and holds things I just didn't have a place to display. Would absolutely buy this again!Tina22

This was easy to put together, instructions were simple, and he loved the independence of deciding what toys go in which bins (we bought grey bins from Walmart to go in the cubbies). I would definitely recommend this for organization for kids toys. This is in his bedroom, and it looks great aesthetically and serves its purpose. I really like this thing, it accommodated all my records including most box sets. If you want to place a turntable on it is possible to leave out the top vertical divider and place it there, then you can place a receiver on top and you have a nice setup. One thing I did is I added a set of 2” furniture legs because I wanted this unit off the floor since I have it on hard wood.Jorge

This is no longer the case. The wooden dowels have been replaced with thin, brittle plastic dowels. I followed the assembly instructions and the cam locks still broke through the shelving boards in two places. Will not buy again.Jamie

I found this one to be very similar and the same price. I used this shelving unit as a set of cubby shelves for my closet nursery. It took about an hour to put together by myself.
