Compact electric can opener by Faberware is 10/10
Item came well packaged and was delivered in perfect shape. The can opener is amazing simple to use. I was worried it would be difficult to use, but it wasn't. I like the button is easy to press for on and off use. The picture shows the button below. The rubber sticks to your hand well to prevent slippage or dropping it. My only issue was you have to have 2 AA batteries none were provided. This was a given to me for review.

I wouldn't!
It's easy to use and leaves the lid smooth around the edges. A FATAL FLAW, however, is that it grinds the rim of the can into splinters and tiny metal shards that fall into the food. Not safe! I will be returning asap and will stick to the classic can opener from now on, even if it does leave sharp edges and take up counter space.

Can opener help for ageing individuals.
This is a birthday gift for a friend who has arthritis in her hand and has difficulty opening cans and jars. It's just what she asked for so I'm sure she will love it; her birthday is tomorrow so she hasn't received it yet.

If it works long term as well, I will purchase the can opener again for family members. This battery operated can opener is a must for aging hands. A little miracle! MERRY CHRISTMAS IN JESUS NAME!

You would end up starving if this is all you had. Slow as molasses and eats batteries. It's genuinely not everything you think it is. I would have to say if all you open was Campbell's soup cans and not every can on the planet it would probably work better because they are smaller and is less work for the can opener. the one I got if you accidentally push the button it would just keep on running and until it went through a cycle so you can't instantly stop it it just keeps going. however I will have to say it's a great idea to make a battery operated can opener but it's going to need to be one that can handle the job. as a matter of fact if you're going to buy a can opener you better buy two. it's always good to have at least two can openers. just think about it if you sacrifice your electric can opener you are helping the world go green. you don't have to buy batteries and you're not using any electricity. does it get much greener than that. again this is a great idea and a great concept and I'm sure it has mass appeal but it's not ideally suited for a large family for instance or someone that is constantly eating out of cans. consider the price you saved on all your food you just paid for in a can opener. the next time you save money on food you're going to spend that saved money on batteries.. so you can have access to your food. anyway I didn't like this can opener . it was weak. it would get caught up. you can't stop it. batteries are expensive if you want the ones with enough power to operate it. this is another fine example of things that make life more convenient. on the other hand it's an example of what's killing us. if you think spending $22-23 on a can opener is okay.. and you're okay with buying batteries.. then you're probably not concerned with it. regardless if you're saving or not..$23 is a little bit frivolous for a can opener for the average person. I guess my problem was spending $23 on a can opener and being disappointed, I would imagine it would be great on a corded model. I've been through so many can openers in my life. it's all in how you treat them. several companies have cans that are significantly harder to open. then there's always the dented can or slightly rolled edge.. the whole business of opening of opening a can and not getting metal chips in your food is of great importance. if your can opener will is grinding metal shavings from the rim of the can or possibly from the lid drop it's not good. so if I can ever can open your can safely effectively and quickly then it would be a good one. don't think you're going to put cheap batteries in that and be pleased with it. you're going to have to get the best batteries and even then you will see. please go buy yourself one of these and you be the judge. you got money and you can afford to take it back so go ahead and try it out for yourself. you may not be disappointed like I was and I don't want to interfere with anybody's business but y'all can do what you want to do.

    Not too happy
We just returned it today. There were some cans that it did not open. Our old countertop opener opens all those cans. Disappointed in the product but very pleased with the seller.

    Great for the elderly!
Bought this for an elderly grandmother who was having a very difficult time having enough strength to use her traditional can opener. It's the ease of an electronic can opener yet takes up less space than a traditional can opener (or at least the one that she had). :-)! Mission accomplished! :-)

    Junk. Avoid.
Junk. Advertises as a "hands-free" solution but is anything but that. You must hold the can opener down so it's level on the top of a can while it (extremely SLOWLY) works its way around. If you don't hold it, it will NOT open the can. It typically takes 30-60 seconds to open any given can. JUNK.

A godsend if you have arthritis and a good gift
Bought it when arthritis stopped me from using a hand crank. Such a blessing. Like others have said, first can you do may be a learning experience, but after that it is so easy to use. No sharp edges! The removed lid can go back on the can for further storage. Makes a great gift, and not just for people with arthritis.

    Waste of money!
This can opener completely fell apart. The magnet on the bottom and the plastic piece it's encased in fell off on the first use. The actual metal cab opener part fell off on the third use. It is completely useless now. Waste of $20.

    Great product
Item came well packaged and was delivered in perfect shape. The can opener is simple to use. I was worried it would be difficult to use, but it wasn't. I like the button is easy to press for on, but it took a few tries to get it to turn off. The rubber sticks to your hand well to prevent slippage or dropping it. You have to have 2 AA batteries none were provided. This was a given to me for review.
