Great budget laptop
I've always purchased budget laptop's and I have to say that in the short time using this one I believe it's the best one I've had. It's fast and light, this is my first laptop with an SSD so I'm sure that has a lot to do with it. I don't like reviewing items like this until I've used it for a significant length of time but in the short time using this I'm very impressed.

Very disappointed
The keyboard does not work. When you type in certain letters then two letters or symbols appear (ex. type a then .a appears). Discovered after initial set up after all account info was entered. Not returning it because hackers can still retrieve information. Been scammed too many times. Tried to contact Gateway, getting no response or help.

    Low screen quality. Inconsistent product.
    I bought four of these products for family members. Only one of the four laptops i bought had an extra slot available to add extra memory ram, The other 3 didn't. Also, the screen of one of the laptops was even lower quality than the other 3, which once again didn't make any sense since they were all the same model. If you find this laptop at its lowest history price it may be worth it, otherwise look somewhere else.

    Perfect for daily task
    Great computer for everyday use love the fingerprint scanner I use my tablet more than I use my computer but when I need the computer this is the perfect one for me it is not a gaming computer but if you just want to do routine daily task this is perfect

    Gateway in name only.
    This is a Gateway in name only. The company that makes this computer licensed the name and put it on this computer. This product has very poor customer service.

    The laptop performs well and is worth the cost. However, I understand that the Ryzen 5 is not working well with Windows 11. Hopefully the problem can be solved and a patch(s) can be sent to have the Ryzen 5 be compatible...

    Functional but cheap.
    The machine is about what I expected for the money. A lower end usable laptop for basic home use. The TouchPad is pretty much useless because the edges stick horribly when pressed right out of the box. I use an external mouse so it doesn't affect me that much and I don't feel like going through the hassle of warranty work or returns. Speed and graphics are ok. Sound is ok. It's Windows 10 Home, It'll work.

    Best laptop value out there
    This absolutely the best value out there. Even laptops with lesser components are more expensive. The design of the laptop is not earth shattering, but who cares when the morning innards pack such a punch.

    Not great for working at home
    I had to return this laptop because I couldn't find anyway to disable the hotkeys and use the regular function keys (F1-F12). The laptop is set up so it defaults to the shortcuts to adjust screen brightness, volume, etc. This was a deal breaker for me because my job software requires extensive use of shortcuts mapped to the function keys. The laptop is otherwise better than average. The keyboard is a little sticky and the plastic build feels cheap. Performance is there with the R5 processor and you can do some light gaming. IPS screen is a little less color accurate than it could be but the viewing angles are great. The speakers and camera are pretty horrible and you're better off using a different camera.
