Great grass seed!
I received this product from the Spark Reviewer program. This is a great product, and came at a perfect time as we have lots of dirt in our back yard due to building a pool. Super easy to use, directions were clear. My grandmother was always a big beliver in Pennington products and she was spot on!

Worked somewhat, if weather permits.
I believe under better weather circumstances, this Pennington product for Sun/shade areas would probably work. It was my unfortunate findings that this product never took root although I cut the grass short, raked and sowed the seeds and watered per directions. The weather here was an issue... after extreme heat and 8 days, (4 one week and 4 the next week), it never took root.
It was also difficult to rush this process due to review because some products take more time than others .

I think everyone who has patches to fix or even a whole lawn to seed should use this product. My issue was sun spots and damage from pet marks/ yellowing. I used this just in those spots and I wish I used it throughout the whole lawn. The gas is lush and plush and the kids and animals love that section of lawn to lounge in now. I’ll be getting more for our next project.Rebecca

I will say it took about 3 weeks to start to sprout, but once it did it came in nicely. The good news is it doesn't look like there are many weeds mixed in with the seeds. There were several days I forgot to water, but they still came in, so very nice. I'm also pretty sure that there is something wrong with the soil in these areas as nothing has grown there for years.Bigness

I wanted grass so with rake in hand, I went to work on removing all the moss. Once the moss was removed and the top layer raked, I laid down the grass seed and covered it with a thin layer of peat moss to keep the seed in place.. The waiting began. To my surprise, a week or so later grass started to grow! The added fertilizer really works as I have not had good luck with normal seed in the past. I ended up going back for more to do the rest of the yard. Grass is nice and green. I can't wait for the rest to grow in. Also, make sure you are watering it daily. I reccomend laying the seed pretty heavy for nice thick grass.Patches

5.00 out of 5 stars reviewVerified Purchaser06/16/2020It grows FAST!In only ten days, we are already seeing tons of bright green grass sprouts that are at least two inches tall! This is in an area in our back yard where nothing grows very well. My husband did clean and then lightly rake all the soil in the area first, then generously spread the seed just using his hands in an even pattern (as even as he could get it). He sprinkled some leftover top soil, which was a by-product from the raking he did, over the top of some of the seed. The day after he put the seed out, though, we had a pretty good rain that moved the seed around a bit. Within just a few days, we started seeing tiny green sprouts poking through the dirt. We are so thrilled, we plan to buy a few more bags to really cover our small back yard area. The area where we planted the seeds gets a few hours of afternoon sun, but is under some very large Fir trees here in the Pacific Northwest, so it is in the shade all the rest of the time. Spreading the seed could not have been any easier. The bag was a good size, maybe slightly on the small side, but I did not expect them to ship a large fifty pound bag. The bag was adequate to do a light coating over our back play area, but we will get another bag or two to fill in the bare spots. It arrived nicely bagged and packed, no problems at all in the shipping. The growth rate was absolutely amazing- lightning fast!mamabayer
