Very easy to use!
This thing is very cool! We love the way it stays open after it automatically feeds. Our dog is older and she does not like to eat everything at one time so this leaves it open for her all day. I also love how you can monitor how much they eat, and do it all right from your phone! Definitely recommend!

DO NOT ORDER
Had trouble from the beginning. Especially with the Wifi setup. Plus continued to have messages from manufacturer, that comms were down with their machines. Ugh!!!! Food would get jammed, ETC.... And now WALMART will not let me return it. It will go in the garbage. I am sure AMAZON would have let me return it. Next time, I will be ordering from AMAZON!

    AVOID!!!!
    DO NOT PURCHASE!! App won't work and has been removed from the playstore! Complete waste of money. This was the first generation, but it'll happen with the 2nd...just a way to make you have to buy a new one. Get one that has the manual set up on the actual feeder so you don't depend on the company keeping the app active.

    Pretty Cool Feeder
    My mother-in-law has been looking at automatic feeders for her cat when I stumbled upon this guy. The set-up was pretty straight forward kind of long with lots of questions and just an FYI have your wi-fi name and password handy as it will not search it, it is a manual entry. The app is pretty straight forward. I really like that you can enter your food type and it will list the details (Protein, fat ,..etc). I had a little hiccup setting up the portion and the timer was a little funny to get tested, but we got it all set up. Does what we need it to do ...feed the cats.

    The new metal food bowl is nice because it's just a simple piece of metal, making it easy to take out to clean up (or throw away food that is stale, especially when you have a princess of a cat who only eats the freshest dry kibble). But if there are any stray pieces of kibble or detritus on the pull-out shelf, the bowl doesn't set in place perfectly. The pullout shelf itself is wobbly too- I appreciate that the feeder generally fits in a cube with parts jutting out when you move it, but that tray holder shelf could have been designed a bit better.

    Very convenient!
    Setting up the wi-fi proved to be somewhat difficult. I had to try several times with the same (correct) login information in order for it to finally work. Once it did work everything else was a breeze. Very nice app for setting up the feeding amount and schedule. I also like that the front has a button I can press to do a feeding outside the scheduled time.

    Who knew a pet feeder could be this smart!?!
    I assumed I was getting a pet feeder on a timer. What I didn't expect was the awesome level of detail in the app! They have every food type you could imagine in the app, with quality ratings and nutrition information. Based on your pet breed, weight and activity level it will match your food caloric value to your pet's ideal needs. Very cool! The unit was super simple to configure and set up. You just turn it on, install the app and follow the prompts. Important to note that this pet feeder is just an expensive bowl unless you have a tablet or phone! I assume everyone does these days, but it's worth mentioning. You can set the unit to dispense very specific amounts of food. More granular than I expect anyone would need, but it'll do it. You can add your own food dispense times in addition to what the app recommends. I have two dogs who share the bowl, so that kinda throws off the magic of the app, but I easily adjusted by adding an additional feed time. All in all I am very pleased! Nice large hopper for food, very quiet operation and simple setup. If I had any minor nitpick complaint, it would be that the power cord is a micro-USB and is a little difficult to locate underneath and plug in. The unit can run without being plugged in as it has a battery. I'm not sure why I would use it on battery other than in case of power outage.
