Xtool D1 10w Laser
Setup was easy and simple. Can start engraving/etching as soon as you get it set up. I have been trying lots of different mediums to see what all it can do. Quite impressed so far with it so far. Just remember to have a well ventilated work area and regular cleaning of equipment. Really enjoy this product and would recommend to others.

crappy equipment
the apps that were supposed to communicate to it wouldn't work. it didn't even recognize the USB cord was plugged in. its a total waste of money

    I really wanted it to work...
    I was so excited to get my XTool D1 and start making projects! However, that was short lived. I tried getting it to connect via USB and WI-Fi. No success for 3 days. Eventually, I was able to connect via USB but it never worked on WI-FI. After connecting with USB and importing an image I framed it with the laser and pushed start. It only fired one little dot and quit. I tried using a Mac and a Windows based computer and it did the same thing with both. I tried disconnecting all the wires and carefully reconnected them. Still, just one little dot. There is very little customer support and I wasn't able to find any YouTube videos that addressed my issue. Most YouTube videos are paid endorsements that tell how wonderful the product is but offer very little help with issues. After 5 days of frustration and trying to get the product to work, I finally sent it back. My guess is it was a defective machine as I tried everything I could to get it to work and it just would not work...

    Read carefully!! Not a 60W laser.
    It is not a 60W laser as you believe by reading the description. "xTool D1 60W DIY Laser Cutter and Engraver Machine with Rotary. Not sure what is 60W. Its not even a 20W. It's a 10W

    Cuts fine but does not support DXF files correctly
    I corresponded with Support before purchase and was assured that DXF files were supported - I just forgot to add "correctly" - they load but are messed up. My specific use for the xTool D1 10Watt was laser cutting from Fusion 360 files - these are opened correctly about 30% of the time. I put the video that I sent to Support on YouTube. Support's response was that Inkscape will sort it out - which is true about 80% of the time. Other than that - it does cut the 3 mm lite ply that I needed quite cleanly at about 8mm/sec with one pass. The only reason that I don't give it a higher rating is the lack of meaningful response from support.

    Awesome Machine
    The XTool D1 is very easy to assemble and get started. I built it in less than 30 minutes, downloaded the LaserBox software, upgraded the firmware, and was making my first project in less than an hour. The quality is excellent (engraving a bamboo cutting board) and the software is simple to understand and use. I am very happy with my purchase and look forward to many hours of use. If you are thinking about investing in a laser etcher/cutter, this is a great first laser and may be the only laser you will ever need.

    A Great Machine
    I love the Xtool D1. It arrived quickly and well packed. It is so easy to put together and use. I am using both Laserbox and LightBurn software depending on the complexity of my project. I received it about 19 days ago and have not stopped using it. I have not tried glass engraving yet but with the rotary it should be a breeze to do with a little practice on my part. Now I need to get a few more accessories. I would recommend this machine with no hesitation. It is a lot of fun. Thanks XTool for a great machine.
