Dual Monitor Docking Station
This item is great! My granddaughter is using it for college. With having multiple classes with labs, she uses 2 monitors, and this is exactly what she needed to make her college experience much more interesting, and complete.

Hit and Miss
The Dual Monitor plug and play docking station is a very nice looking docking station, and the unit is fairly compact (but the plug is HUGE and takes a lot of real estate on a power strip). It is very easy to set up and I was pleased with how quickly it docked my mouse, keyboard and monitor. For the review, I hooked up a second monitor and it too was very easy. There are lots of extra USB ports which makes it very nice if you have a lot of devices you want to plug into your laptop. The front-facing USB3 ports make it very easy to connect high use items (phones and thumb drives) and also having the front-facing headphone and microphone jacks is also very handy. The only complaints I had were the power cord is a space hog. It is not going to fit in a power strip easily. Also when I tried to connect it to my Asus laptop the monitors didn't work (The keyboard, mouse etc worked just fine). So not sure why it was that the success rate was so sporadic. I guess that makes me too nervous to recommend all that highly.

    Very satisfied
Unpacked the dock and connected the connections according to the diagram. I did have to use the DVI to HDMI adapter that was included since both my monitors are HDMI. Downloaded the drivers and software from the website. Used the window P to open the monitor box and selected "extended". Plugged the dock into my laptop. The monitors flashed a few times and then both monitors came on. Opened a word document and an excel spreadsheet and transferred them back and forth between both monitors. Everything works perfectly and was a fast setup.

Great for the price. Had to find a workaround for audio, but I knew that when I purchased.

Mostly good, but the jury is still out
This has been in use for about a week now and everything seems mostly good to this point. I purchased this because I need a DVI connection for my monitor and it had good reviews on several sites. I'm not crazy about no computer power-on button which requires me to open my laptop to power up, but that is standard with a USB docking station. No way around it. Being vertical does tend to use much less desk space if you can set it where all the cords go off the back of your desk and out of the way. The Jury is still out in one aspect. When I first set it up it started to show the second monitor, but then froze. NOTHING I trie, restarting computer, poer monitor off and on, toggled through the monitor menu, etc., would refresh the second monitor screen - - until someone suggested unplugging the Plugable power and then plugging it back in - rather like a reset for the pluggable. That worked find until last night when I unplugged the power again because we were having a BAD thunderstorm. This morning I plugged it back in and once again the frozen screen. This time it took 3 re-powering tries before it worked as expected. My monitor is an older version so I am not yet saying if this is the Plugable or the monitor, but it is a problem. I will be less likely to power down in the future. Everything else is working well.

Great product! Don't wanna share it!
One USB cable to connect all my devices to my laptop. This product is a remarkable device. I'm able to connect dual screen monitors through it and have six additional USB ports for other devices. Unfortunately it has lead to my other half connecting her laptop to it also. First the man cave, now the home office.

Pleasantly surprised by the ease of the setup.
Like many others I am working from home and recently replaced my laptop with a lighter, smaller Lenovo version. After setting it up I found out that the laptop is not setup for multiple monitors. Lenovo recommends the Plugable model for multiple monitors so I went with their reco. As soon as the docking station arrived I read at the easy install instructions, made room on my desk for the station, set it up. The minute I connected my second monitor the display came up. I was pleasantly surprised. After having used it now for over a week I am a very happy camper.

    Good product and good service
This product arrived earlier than planned. I have been using this product for about a week now and enjoy that there are plugs in front for those that I need to plug and unplug. Then the plugs in back are ones that I can plug it in and forget about it.

    FANTASTIC MULTI-FUNCTION DOCKING STATION
When I first received the Plugable UD-3900 USB 3.0 Docking Station with Dual Video Outputs for Windows, I had a lot of hopes for using it. I must say that it out-performed all of my expectations. This is one handy little gadget! Anytime that you need to use two or more monitors together, you do not have to look any further than this Plugable UD-3900 USB 3.0 Docking Station. You can connect so many things to it. It may be small in size; it is about the size of an old Eight Track tape, but it is big enough to get the job done. There are two USB 3.0 ports, and four USB 2.0 ports. There are places for your headphones, microphone, tablet, phone, etc. It comes with everything you need to get you started. One thing that I found especially helpful was the CD. If you run into any snags while connecting everything, (and I did) the CD will walk you through it step by step. Make sure you play the CD before attempting to connect your devices. The Plugable UD-3900 USB 3.0 Docking Station with Dual Video Outputs for Windows is great for personal use, businesses and even school. I use it when I am working with our monthly finances. It is super easy to keep everything together and right in front of me. This little device is really amazing. I was expecting it to be a lot bigger.

    Expandibility plus
The UD-3900 was ordered to provide an easy connection for a new larger monitor to my laptop computer. My goal was to use the laptop to display property records and to extract data into an Excel worksheet on the larger monitor. Prior to this equipment the only easy option was writing down the needed information and then entering it separately This was a slow process caused by my weak eyesight not by the software. The docking station is very small but offers many connections.. Starting at the top you have 4 USB 2.0 ports followed by a Gigabit Ethernet port. Then you have a DVI Output and HDMI output jack. Finally you have a USB 3.0/2.0 connection to your PC. Speakers, microphone, external hard drive, keyboard and mouse connections are also provided. When my new monitor arrives I will be up to date thanks to pluggable.com/products/ud-3900. The web site provides videos for some of the less understood issues with working with two or more displays in the Windows 10 environment.

    Simple to use!
This docking station was incredibly easy to set up. My laptop now has a second monitor, which is really nice. I could very easily add another monitor, but two screens is plenty for right now. I like that if I need my laptop to be mobile, all I have to do is unplug it.

    Good docking station
This device allows you to link up multiple devices at one time. I use this to be able to have dual monitors for work. The device has these ports: USB 3.0, USB 2.0, DVI, HDMI, VGA, Ethernet and an audio out. It comes with a DVI to VGA adapter, USB 3.0 cable and a power adapter. You can hook up 2 monitors one HDMI and one VGA. The device comes with the Windows drivers on a CD. The drivers install easy. The device is easy to use. Works well.

    Simple to set up
Plugable UD-3900 USB 3.0 docking station What's included: •Quick Install Guide •Software CD HDMI VGI and drivers. 4-amp AC power adapter USB 3.0 Type-A male to Type-B male cable DVI TO VGA port adapter. Ports: 2 USB 3.0 (Front Mounted) and 4 USB 2.0 (Rear Mounted). HDMI port DVI/VGA port. A microphone and a headphone jack. A port for wired Ethernet connection also ( 10/100 capable). Hardware requirements: Dual Core Intel or AMD CPU, 2GHz or better with 2GB+ RAM. Windows GPU must be Intel, AMD, or Nvidia with WDDM drivers. Compatibility: This docking station is compatible with Windows 10, 8, 7, and XP. Intel/AMD only (no Windows RT/ARM). It is NOT supported for Mac or Linux. The included USB cable is only 3 feet in length. Having everything scrunched up close on my desk drove me crazy so I would advise you to purchase a longer USB 3.0 Type-A to Type-B cable. You can connect 2 additional external monitors with this docking station. You can also connect this docking station to a TV if it is an HDMI TV. You can connect a USB external hard drive and memory sticks and the docking station can transfer files quickly. You can NOT charge USB devices such as tablets or cellphones from the USB ports. Since I don't have 2 additional monitors I just connected my laptop/tablet to my desktop pc monitor using my existing cord with the included DVI to VGA adapter and connected that to the back of the docking station's DVI port. It was an easy process. Download your CD first. Make sure when you're downloading your software/drivers that your docking station is NOT connected to your pc yet. You'll connect it afterward. Once that was completed I went to the Plugable website and downloaded the newest driver for this model. You can go to Plugables' web site for all the specs and features, FAQ, and tech support. It was easy to get this docking station up and running.

    Expands Laptop
This is a great tool if you want to turn your laptop into a desktop machine. You have so many ports you can use, from two monitors to several USB, thus expanding your laptop's capabilities. This is an Universal Docking Station that stands on your desk, ready to connect your PC to monitors and peripherals. When finished, just unplug the single cable and your laptop is ready again for mobile use. You can connect up to 10 devices using a single USB cable. Once plugged into the PC, the needed drivers are downloaded automatically. • High speed USB 3.0 (5 Gbps) link from computer to video, audio, network, and two additional USB 3.0 ports. • Compatible with Windows 10, 8, 7, and XP. Intel/AMD only (no Windows RT/ARM). Not for Mac or Linux. • Network port for wired Gigabit Ethernet connectivity. • Graphics, audio, and networking controlled with single DisplayLink DL-3900 chipset. • USB 3.0 ports and components controlled by VIA VL811 chipset; four USB 2.0 ports controlled by Terminus chipset. • Stereo audio in/out with hotplug detection. • 4-amp AC power adapter, USB 3.0 Type-A male to Type-B male cable, DVI-to-VGA port adapter. • Backwards compatible with USB 2.0 (PC and attached devices). • HDMI and DVI/VGA ports for two external monitors. The unit itself is about the size of a slim book. And I found this to be easy to use but I thought I might be able to use it as a NAS box of some sort and just plug it into my router for NAS external hard drives but that did not work. Other than that, the connected devices (keyboard, hard drive in my case) work like a charm, but it is important to remember that if the laptop hibernates, so do the attached devices. But if you are frustrated by the lack of ports on your laptop (one of mine does not even have an Ethernet port), then this is a good solution.

    Plugable 3900 -Excellent Docking Station
This is an excellent docking station in every way- small, simple, and very easy to set up. Instructions are well written and easy to follow. In 30" I had swapped out my desktop computer with my laptop and a 22" extension monitor. No issues with drivers or setup. I was uncertain about the orientation - right/left of the extension monitor (a Windows setup issue). I emailed tech support and they were back to me within minutes and gave me instructions on how to go through the Windows display setting, a very easy process. Overall I couldn't be happier with this docking station.

    Plugable 3900 ... great technology
Tried the Microsoft Surface Pro 4 docking station first. That one had a huge problem with connecting to an external monitor. Researched the situation and found the Plugable 3900 which was $60.00 less expensive and worked great from the get go. If you have a laptop you have got to get a Plugable 3900.
