Great
I just bought the HP USB-C Dock because I needed more USB ports for my laptop which only had two. I set it up right away and so far so good. No complaints and it's easy to set up.
I'm very happy that I bought it.

Can't connect to 2nd display
I bought the HP USB-C Dock primarily so I could connect my Spectre 360x to another larger display via the display port. Secondarily I wanted the additional USB ports. I installed the DisplayLink application, that comes with the Dock, as instructed. However, I have had no success thus far in connecting my other display. The display connects to my EliteBook 840 G3 directly without a problem, but not with my Spectre through the HP USB-C Dock. Also, the DisplayLink software does not give me connection options as described in the user manual. I have not yet given up hope. But if I can't get it to work soon, I plan to return the Dock.

3.00 out of 5 stars reviewVerified Purchaser07/30/2021Could be betterNot enough USB connectors, I still need a USB extender. With connectors on front & back it takes up too much desk space and make a wiring rats next... the old mini dock was MUCH cleaner & easier to dock & undock.J123456789

2.00 out of 5 stars reviewVerified Purchaser06/07/2021Runs hot and occasionally crashesThis is my second HP dock. Both docks have crashed occasionally and seem to struggle to handle dual monitor setups, especially when one is plugged into the DisplayPort. This dock also runs hot, even when I only have one monitor plugged into the dock via HDMI and the other plugged directly into my laptop.jim_59

5.00 out of 5 stars reviewVerified Purchaser05/10/2021So many plugs and nowhere to put them, oh my!I'm currently working from home and found myself with numerous plugs for monitors, laptop, keyboard, fan, and printer. While I love my HP Envy x360 laptop, one of the issues was not having enough USB ports. HP USB-C Dock = Problem Solved! I now have enough ports for everything don't have to switch cords back and forth when using different items.K Schreiner

5.00 out of 5 stars reviewVerified Purchaser08/20/2020Reliable device!I called HP to determine the best docking station for my HP laptop. They took all of my laptop's information and recommended a product that has been very reliable using both monitors, a webcam, and a USB hub with numerous peripherals. The only thing to watch out for is the second video port on the docking station is a "Displayport" which has a unique shape (see photo). I didn't know this when I purchased it, so I had to order a cable for it. The good news there is that the HDMI port on the laptop itself worked as my second monitor input until the cable arrived. Other than that, it's proven to be a robust little device, and I'm glad I took the trouble to ask HP about it.Unknown

1.00 out of 5 stars reviewVerified Purchaser02/07/2018Does not perform as advertisedI purchased this quite expensive Dock because I was told it was usable through the USB-C port of the current (8th Gen) Envy computers to charge and dock my monitors. That is incorrect! This will not charge the computer despite the "PowerDelivery" spec on the computer page. It may work with other computers, but this WILL NOT charge OR dock monitors for an HP Envy x360 15". I sent mine back.Hafheim

3.00 out of 5 stars reviewVerified Purchaser11/07/2017Missing featureProduct works fine with USB devices and Network connection. The missing feature is not providing charging power to the laptop. so you need to have both laptop power supply and Dock station power supply. This is more like a USB HUB and not a Docking device.Rob1234

5.00 out of 5 stars reviewVerified Purchaser10/17/2017Works Flawlessly, but Check Your Machine FirstI got this dock to work with my Spectre x2. Since the 2 in 1 laptop only has two USB type C ports, I needed to have a dock to a second monitor, and get some additional USB ports. Well, I installed the latest drivers, plugged it in, the plug and play manager detected it, and now I have a second monitor that I am using with the laptop. I added a wireless receiver to one of the USB ports and I have a mouse and keyboard working through the dock to. This dock is working exactly as advertised, and I love it. Now, if you are someone looking into having a Spectre x2 work with Windows Mixed Reality, you will need to get the USB-C to HDMI adapter, as the HDMI port on the dock will not work with Mixed Reality. It will drive who additional monitors through the HDMI port and Display Port, but not a VR headset.sudoRemedy

5.00 out of 5 stars reviewVerified Purchaser08/29/2017Very Useful AdditionRecently purchased a Spectre 360 laptop. Docking station may be a little pricey but it is offset by needing only a single USB-C cable to provide power, and connections to a key board, mouse, monitor, printer, internet cable, speakers, external dvd drive, with a spare USB-C. Plugged everything in, no problems. Makes coming and going very simple.Prof44
